Marieke moved from Utrecht to Las Vegas in 2019 to write about desert water politics and stayed for the neighbourhoods. She covers the Arts District, the Historic Westside and day trips to Red Rock and Valley of Fire, and times her visits around the bus routes and the heat rather than a car she doesn't own.
